What is IPL (Intense Pulse Light)

IPL also known as photo rejuvenation is a non-invasive and non-ablative treatment. Usually recommended as a monthly skin management treatment, leaving the skin looking brighter, smoother, and more radiant.

IPL uses high intensity pulses of light to help improve the tone, texture and appearance of the skin. IPL can be used in the treatment of brown spots, sun spots, broken capillaries, fine lines and it can also help alleviate the symptoms associated with rosacea.

Redness & Veins

After one to three treatments, light therapy can get rid of 50%-75% of broken blood vessels for most people. They could completely go away. While treated veins don’t come back, new ones might show up later.

If rosacea causes your face to flush, IPL can be a good alternative to laser therapy.

The recommended protocol for optimal results is 3-6 sessions at 4-week intervals. Depending on the severity of the condition being treated more treatments may be required.

No sun bathing, tanning beds or sunless tanning creams two weeks before and four weeks after your laser treatment. The presence of any tan decreases the effectiveness of the laser and can increase the chance of post-treatment complications.
After IPL treatment, using sun protection at all times is recommended to avoid recurrence of the pigmentation.
