What is platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and what are PRP injections
Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy uses injections of a concentration of a patient’s own platelets to accelerate the healing of injured tendons, ligaments, muscles and joints. In this way, PRP injections use each individual patient’s own healing system to improve musculoskeletal problems.
PRP injections are prepared by taking anywhere from one to a few tubes of your own blood and running it through a centrifuge to concentrate the platelets. These activated platelets are then injected directly into your injured or diseased body tissue. This releases growth factors that stimulate and increase the number of reparative cells your body produces.
What is plasma and what are platelets
Plasma is the liquid portion of whole blood. It is composed largely of water and proteins, and it provides a medium for red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets to circulate through the body. Platelets, also called thrombocytes, are blood cells that cause blood clots and other necessary growth healing functions.
Platelet activation plays a key role in the body’s natural healing process.

What are Whitening IV Drips?

Glutathione can be used for skin brightening and lightening in addition to its amazing anti-oxidant and detoxifying properties.
Glutathione has been known for years to lighten the skin, first noticed for liver transplant patients who received Glutathione which is a powerful anti-oxidant and scavenger of free radicals. It is thought to turn off the melanocytes. Vitamin C is well known not to lighten the skin, but to enhance the whitening of agents that do whitening.
Our Whitening IV drips are given with high dose glutathione.

Skin Tone & Texture
The colour in your skin occurs from the production of melanin and greater melanin production means darker skin. The antioxidants used in our Skin whitening IV Drip have been found to inhibit the production of melanin. On top of this, they also contribute to speeding up cell turnover, replacing the damaged cells – that give a dark appearance to the skin – with new cells.

Our patients typically receive 3 sessions, spaced 3-4weeks apart for initial treatment. Why choose skin booster
Regular facial muscle movement such as squinting, laughing and frowning don’t leave folds and wrinkles when we are young. Collagen and elastin diminish as you age, so that the firm support structure of your face and other areas begin to thin and sag. The natural hyaluronic acid (HA) levels that hold moisture and lubricate the tissues also fades. Hyaluronic acid is a natural sugar molecule existing in human tissue.
There are plenty of topical skincare products containing HA today. Many of them work well to hydrate the surface, but nothing gets deep into the dermis to physically improve skin quality the way that Skinboosters can.

Dermal Filler

What is Dermal Fller
As we age, our skin loses its volume, hydration, and elasticity, all of which we need in order to promote a youthful, healthy-looking appearance. Injectable Filler is used to give volume and create contours on the face where they are needed or where the volume has disappeared with age. Often called Dermal Fillers or Facial Fillers, these products are temporary and non-surgical and can result in a younger, refreshed, and revitalized appearance. Our doctors use only the top-rated and best hyaluronic products available in Canada today, such as Juvederm, Teosyal Ultimate, Teosyal RHA line, and Teosyal redensity II. All of these dermal fillers have an excellent safety record and are approved by Health Canada.
How does it work
Most injectable dermal filler treatments, including hyaluronic acid facial fillers, can be quickly and easily done within 15 minutes to 1 hour, depending on clients’ needs. Before your treatment, our doctors recommend avoiding anti-inflammatory drugs (Motrin, Advil, Ibuprofen, etc.), Aspirin, vitamin E, ginseng, and gingko biloba for 1 week to help prevent possible bruising. The dermal filler treatments at our clinic will involve topical freezing to make the procedure comfortable and simple. Most injectable filler products on the market today also contain lidocaine, which is a freezing agent that adds additional comfort during the procedure. With this dual approach, our patients can enjoy a comfortable experience. The results with dermal fillers are visible immediately. Dermal fillers can involve minor swelling and sometimes minimal bruising. The swelling usually peaks within the first 24 hours. Some patients don’t mind the swelling and continue on with their day as per normal. Some patients will experience mild swelling for up to 7 to 10 days. Both of these effects are considered absolutely normal and will subside and resolve shortly.

Before & After

Facial Injectable fillers typically last anywhere from 6 months to 18 months, depending on where the vials are injected. Lip injection typically lasts only 6 months since we are eating and talking and constantly moving our mouths; therefore, the hyaluronic acid is metabolized at a much faster rate. Dermal filler will last longer in other areas of the face that do not move so often, such as temple, forehead and nose. Another wonderful feature of HA dermal filler is that it is reversible and biodegradable. If any patient is unsatisfied with their final results, a product called hyaluronidaise can be used to quickly melt the injectable filler, and the patient will return to their pre-injection appearance within an hour. The use of this is very rare and usually stems from a patient needing to correct what an inexperienced injector has done.

What is Botox
There is a distinction between dynamic wrinkles and static wrinkles.
Dynamic wrinkles are wrinkles that are visible on the face during muscular contractions such as frowning and squinting. Once these muscles relax, dynamic wrinkles disappear as the skin springs back to its original position.
Common dynamic wrinkles include:
- Frown lines between eyebrows
- Forehead wrinkles
- Crow’s feet
- Smile lines around the mouth
BOTOX® is an effective treatment for dynamic wrinkles as it has the ability to temporarily and partially relax facial muscles. As dynamic wrinkles fade away when the underlying muscle contractions are relaxed, it will result in a smoother and more youthful looking complexion all around.
On the other hand, as we age, the production of collagen declines, causing the skin to lose its elasticity. As a result, dynamic wrinkles will eventually become static wrinkles. Static wrinkles are wrinkles that are visible on the face even when facial muscles are relaxed and tend to deepen with age, therefore, BOTOX® would not be an effective treatment. Instead, injectable dermal fillers are best for addressing static wrinkles.
What are dynamic wrinkles
Botox® injections are noted primarily for the ability to reduce the appearance of facial dynamic wrinkles. They’re also used to treat conditions such as neck spasms (cervical dystonia), excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis), an overactive bladder and lazy eye. Botox® injections may also help prevent chronic migraines. Botox® injections are usually performed in a doctor’s office. Doctor uses a thin needle to inject tiny amounts of botulinum toxin into your skin or muscles. The number of injections needed depends on many factors, including the extent of the area being treated.
What Are the Areas that Can Be Treat with Botox®
Using botox® to treat the following “trouble spots” has been approved by the FDA for use by both men and women from 18 to 65 years.
- Crow’s feet refer to wrinkles around the eyes.

Non-Surgical Double Chin Treatment (BELKYRA®)
Non-Surgical Double Chin Treatment (BELKYRA®)
An injectable drug used to reduce the fat in the submental area, also known as the area beneath the chin.
Reduce fat under the chin·
What is Non-Surgical Double Chin Treatment (BELKYRA®)
This non-surgical treatment uses deoxycholic acid – a naturally occurring substance found in the body – to destroy the membranes of fat cells, creating a beautifully contoured silhouette below the chin.
. In many ways, using Belkyra® is like sculpting a marble statue; great care must be taken to remove the right amount of fat under the chin to create an appearance that looks natural and provides the right contours.
What does Belkyra® do?

Fat under the Chin
Belkyra® is injected into the fat under your chin to contour your jawline and reduce your double chin. It’s suitable for moderate to severe double chins caused by fat accumulation from genes, ageing or weight gain. Other causes of a double chin, such as loss of skin elasticity or muscle excess, will not respond to treatment. We’ll assess your neck area to see if your chin is suitable. You will need at least two treatments spaced eight weeks apart. Most people need three to four treatments. You may require up to six treatments. Although the reduction in fat cells is irreversible, the appearance of your double chin area may be affected over time by skin ageing, weight changes and sun exposure.
Face Lifting
Belkyra® is injected into the fat under your chin to contour your jawline and reduce your double chin causing a face lifting effect to your face.

For most patients, downtime is minimal and occurred most commonly after the first treatment session. When scheduling your treatments, keep your social plans and work commitments in mind.
As with other injectable treatments, you may experience side effects with Belkyra. The most common side effects are swelling, bruising, pain and numbness.
Some fillers are Hyaluronic acid dermal fillers that are made up of a soft injectable gel. Hyaluronic Acid is a molecule that’s found naturally in your body. Once injected into treatment areas, it binds with water then expands, resulting in more volume and less sagging or wrinkling. The gel is tissue-friendly and long-lasting, though not permanent. Dermal filler treatments are widely used in medical aesthetics to add volume, plump up and reduce the appearance of lines and folds.
Belkyra® is approved only for use in the submental area. Common side effects like swelling or bruising should resolve within a few days. There is a risk of serious side effects that include nerve injury in the jaw. This can result in facial weakness or asymmetry, difficulty with swallowing or destroying the skin cells if injected in a wrong depth. For this reason, it’s essential to choose a qualified cosmetic physician to perform the procedure. Other healthcare professionals may not have adequate familiarity with variations in anatomy in the area of the chin and jaw. Patients with severe double chin may develop excessive loose skin after treatment of the submental fat. This can be improved with surgical tightening procedures or by use of non-invasive treatments.

What is Sculptra
Sculptra is an injectable dermal filler that has been around since 1999. It was first approved by the FDA in 2004 to treat lipoatrophy in people living with HIV. Lipoatrophy causes facial fat loss that results in sunken cheeks and deep folds and indentations on the face.
In 2014, the FDA approved Sculptra Aesthetic for treating wrinkles and folds on the face to give a more youthful appearance.
The main ingredient in Sculptra is poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA). It’s classified as a collagen stimulator that provides long-lasting, natural-looking results that can last up to two years.
Sculptra is not recommended for people with allergies to any of its ingredients or for those with medical conditions that cause irregular scarring.
How does Sculptra work
Sculptra is injected into the skin to diminish facial wrinkles. It contains PLLA, which acts as a collagen stimulator, helping to gradually restore fullness to facial wrinkles and folds. This results in a softer and more youthful appearance.
You may notice immediate results, but it can take a few months to see the full results of your treatment.
Your Sculptra specialist will work with you to determine the number of treatment sessions needed to achieve the best result. The average regimen consists of three injections spread out over three or four months.
